"Laverne is incredible. I got in touch with Laverne to book a "Fresh 48" for my friend who was expecting a baby boy. From the very first email, I could tell she was professional and knew exactly what she was doing and she instilled confidence. I showed my friend her email and we knew we wanted to go forward. Laverne was patient with our questions and inquiries, and even when we had to change location she was flexible and happy to accommodate us.
As for the actual shoot - I am beyond impressed! She spent around 3 hours total and got all the shots she wanted. She brought backdrops and props and blankets, everything you can think of and more. She staged the area using natural light and additional light. This was in late December, so she had a mini heater to make sure baby was warm, she used her phone to play soothing sounds to make sure baby was calm and relaxed. Her patience with the newborn was incredible! I was mesmerized just watching them, and even though I was not an actual part of this shoot, but I'm so glad I set it up for my friend and that I was there to witness it.
Laverne as a photographer is full of talent and creativity and I imagine she can do anything and it will turn out beautiful. As a person, I see she is extremely natural around newborns and feels very connected to families and wanting to capture their spirits and their beauty on camera.
I cannot highly recommend Laverne enough - she is exceptionally talented, communicative and patient. What more could you ask for?"
